Mark Allen was born 27 December 1961 in the small town of Jacksonville in East Texas. From an early age he became enthralled with horror films, and grew up watching the Universal classic horror movies of early luminaries like Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, and Lon Chaney. He also credits his older brother, Clark, for turning him on to the Hammer Horror films, which starred Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.
After graduation, Allen became a Navy Hospital Corpsman. He spent twenty-one years serving his country. He retired in 2001 a decorated veteran. He then set his sights on making his boyhood dream of making horror movies a reality.
Allen had honed his screenwriter skills for several years while on active duty. In 2000, he produced a comedy short film, LOVE AFTER DEATH. In 2005, he decided to form a production company with his wife, screenwriter Fiona Finlayson. Forsaken Films, dedicated to producing low budget, high quality and commercially viable feature projects, was the result.
Mark Allen spent the first half of his life defending the American public. He plans to spend the rest of his life entertaining them.
He currently has several scripts in development for his next horror feature, including EARLY GRAVE, a psychological horror thriller, and ALPHA MALE, an old-fashioned werewolf tale.
